Doomsday Prophecy... We continue to be bombarded by what we'll call "doomsday prophecy" talking about major destruction; ET attack; Government conspiracies and the return of the Christ. I've always taken all of that in stride and in fact, I've often thrown in a little sarcasm (a little you say?) when I've spoken of such prophecies. These prophecies aren't all coming from wanna-be preachers or tele-evangelists. Oh sure, there are more than enough of those around to keep things interesting. But, what about those who predict specific dates or periods of time for calamity to occur? The most recent of which, caught my eye was from Eric Julien. Eric proclaims to be a contactee with extra-terrestrial beings and he claims that they've shared with him very important Earth-changing prophetic events. The latest from Eric can be found at his "save lives in may" website where he lays some rather ominous claims that the east coast of the United States would come to an end on May 25, 2006 at the hands of a super Tsunami. He suggested that nasty ET's would hurl a comet fragment into our oceans causing mass destruction, if I've understood his articles properly. I must admit, this would make an excellent story plot line if only he wasn't perfectly serious about his outlandish claims. I'm sure any of us who've followed this field for the past few years can point to at least a dozen other highly unlikely claims. The one that jumps to mind is the Nancy Leider claims about the discovery and fly-by of Nibiru back in (when else!) May of 2003. So what is it about May anyway? Nancy also claimed to be in direct contact with ET - specifically Zeta's and has her own website at ZetaTalk. Frankly, nothing became of her predictions either. That being said, the fact that nothing happened doesn't mean that the planet of the crossing (Nibiru) doesn't exist. So what is going on here? Are these prophets being duped by ol' ET? Eric claimed to have dreams also predicting this calamity. Furthermore, Eric referenced another questionable technology as a means to support his end-time scenario - the Bible code. I must admit, I was quite impressed with all of the exacting references to the specific date between the Julian calendar and the Gregorian calendar as well. I haven't however, ever really done much research into the Bible code theories - thus it is all quite convenient that the dates claim to match up. The next obvious question is, "well what happens when you wake up on May 26th and all is nominal?". The quick and simple answer to that is some type of reference to "Trust me, it's coming. There is a time window for this to happen. We're not out of the woods yet.". You have doubts? Trust me on this - it'll happen. There will be some kind of statement along these lines. Then, after a week goes by it'll be changed to say how we averted disaster because of the benevolent ET stepping in and protecting us. Like Nancy, Eric will lose most of his reader-given credibility and quietly fall from public awareness. That doesn't mean that he won't continue to make outrageous claims and continue to pop up on websites and blogs, etc. In a rather odd way, I truly respect both he and Nancy for being so willing to completely destroy their reputation. Anyone who risks putting an exact date/time for an event is really taking a chance. It is because of that exacting information that these individuals gain their 15-minutes of fame and have an opportunity to convey a specific message to the masses. Obviously, after the event date passes, their public awareness begins to dwindle and they are labeled as frauds or attention-seekers. Anyone in this line of research opens himself up for critique and reputation banging. Let's face it, just because the "idea" of ET existing is supported by over 80% of the population of the western countries doesn't mean that anyone is ready to greet ET. There is a certain amount of comfort in keeping that at a safe distance. There is no doubt that there are other beings in the Universe who possess intelligence and highly advanced technological civilizations. Our scientists are rather arrogant to consider that all intelligent races would be confronted with mass extinction due to technology. There is enough evidence; although still ignored by what we consider the credible science agencies on this planet; to support extra-terrestrial involvement not only on our planet but in our solar system. The monuments on Mars; Luna and the various other satellites in our solar system speak to this. To seriously believe that the ancient Egyptian's were able to build the Pyramids with their limited access to materials is simply absurd. Now we have the discovery of Sumerian Tablets to help fill in the gaps of our ancient history. Doesn't anyone else out there find it a bit odd that people from over 5,000 years ago would have such an advanced understanding of technology and our solar system? How did they come by this information? We can easily validate their findings and by golly, they were exacting! Come on, it wasn't more than 150 years ago that we were trying to figure out why planets had a certain wobble in their orbit. Yet, these folks some 5,000 years ago had more knowledge about our Universe than we do today. If that doesn't hint at some advanced extra-terrestrial involvement than what does? In the end, I still insist that if you consider the Sumerian Tablet stories to be simply "myth" then you absolutely must consider the holy books of today - Bible; Koran; etc., to also be stories of simple "myth". These books use the same stories that the Sumerian's used. You can not separate the two no matter how hard you try. Quote scripture all you want, it doesn't change the underlying facts. History speaks for itself and comes to its own defense! In so many ways, the ancients were so much more open to our reality than we are today. We've been absolutely brainwashed by our dependence upon religion. Once we realize that the God we seek isn't "out there" but rather right "here" in the Human heart and soul, we'll be more inclined to accept our place in this reality and grow beyond the need for security blankets. We are in charge of our reality. We make it what it is. You need only read through my earlier PUFOIN Perspectives to get a foundation on my take on the spiritual development of our being. Interestingly enough, I've found more comfort in knowing that I truly have a purpose here in this reality than I ever felt when I was reliant upon another being to give me purpose. I digress. The purpose of this article is not to rehash the Ancient Astronaut equation. It is to discuss the relevance of doomsday prophets in our society. What exactly do they bring to the table? What purpose do they serve? Where were these prophets for the 2004 Tsunami? I don't wish to suggest that there are not people who offer a true insight into the next realm. There is so much that we have yet to learn (or re-learn) about our human existence that for any of us to discount the possibility of people with the capability to see what we consider future events, is simply silly. My firm belief is that there are people who are in an advanced stage of enlightenment. These folks would be those who did not ascend at the last opportunity to transcend the planes of existence. Some may have stayed behind to be guides. Some may not have learned their lessons on this plane of existence and thus did not understand how to ascend. However we look at it, there is certainly the opportunity for clairvoyance. I'm sure that on some level, the ability for those in a higher plane of existence to be in contact with the more highly enlightened individuals in this plane of existence also exists. I've certainly never really put a lot of stock in seers over the years but there are a few who spoke in plain everyday English without the need for codes or twisted rhymes. Edgar Cayce is one that still astounds me. Many disregard his abilities as trickery or fraud. I guess in the end it is really up to each individual to latch onto what they personally believe to be the truth. Another who makes the little hairs on my neck stand up when I hear his interaction is John Edward. John is a Roman Catholic and comes from Long Island. We share those traits in common. (We also share our given name!). That being said, I've never heard John toss in his personal beliefs or allow his beliefs to corrupt his readings. I've found his readings to be insightful and certainly more consistent than many less reputable psychics. Is he in touch with the next plane of existence? Simply put, no. He is actually in contact with the souls who are in transition between Humanly existence. When we die, we are in a state of pending. The length of that period really has no meaning in that realm as it is not within the dimensions governed by "time". Those souls are in a pure state of spirit and are deciding what their next lesson needs to be. Just like a student who knows that next year he going to need to learn Algebra but has the ability to determine when based on other classes available for him to take before or after. The soul has the opportunity to choose what comes next and then generate an existence where those life lessons will be learned. Ultimately all lessons will need to be learned. It is just our choice as to when it will happen. Some choose the easier way out and go for simple lessons and have lives of great prosperity. Others choose the harder lessons and have a life of struggle and hardship. Oddly, one of the lessons learned is that having it all doesn't bring about happiness or fulfillment. Just the same, it is a lesson we need to learn. It is possible for us to learn that through the observation of others - thus allowing one lifetime existence to serve multiple learning purposes. So, that brings us back to those attention-getters. What exactly do these folks gain from causing people to become upset? Nancy Leider seemed to act betrayed. She scrambled to come up with an explanation as to why she'd been mistaken. Suddenly it was the Zeta's who were propagating false information to throw off the US Government. Well Nancy, if I were truly in contact with extra-terrestrial beings and they lied to me and made me the laughing stock of the para-scientific community, I'd be just a bit pissed off. Now Eric (in my opinion) is also the victim of a similar fate, if I've read his ongoing articles correctly. It is my intuition that the 25th will come and go without even a hint of any comet fragment or Tsunami. Certainly, there will be some back peddling to try and keep the 15-minutes of fame going but in the end, Eric will fall victim to the same ridicule as the "boy who cried wolf". We've seen it all too often. Time will tell. If I'm wrong about Eric and his prediction I probably won't be around to admit it since I'm in the flood zone that he predicts. So Eric, if you're right - please excuse my skepticism and I give you credit where credit is due. What concerns me is that so many people are "followers" and are so impressionable. How many will sell their home or relocate to a "safe area", spending so much money to do so, only to have nothing happen? Of course, Eric and Nancy will suggest that it is better to be safe than sorry. Is it? Is it really? From where I'm sitting, death is only a rung on a ladder to ascension. It isn't something to be feared. Do you really want to spend your life afraid of judgment from some superior/supreme being? There is no one more critical of the self, than oneself. My worst fear is having to face myself. In my conscious state, I can push my wrongs to the back and not focus on them. Yet, in my unconscious state those demons find their way out and I'm forced to confront them and make my wrongs right. It is what makes me learn and grow. If I'm not ready for ascension at the time of my death, then I'll take on a new humanly existence and try to fulfill my educational requirements in order to move to the next plane of existence - just to start as an infant in knowledge and go through lifetimes of experiences on that plane until I learn the truths. My ultimate purpose is to return to the Universal Consciousness and share my lifetimes of experience and become absorbed by the greater Consciousness and Collective. Ultimately, I guess we lose our individual identity as we become one with God. We're all God. We're all here to serve one purpose - to return home with our learning's and help God to understand His own existence and being. We strive for knowledge and understand because it is the exact purpose for our soul's existence. It is no different from sitting behind a computer terminal and sending an e-mail out asking for feedback or clarity. We learn when we get a reply. To God, WE are the reply. There is no "time" in the plane of existence this Consciousness exists in. I've had the good fortune to know some good people over the years. A few years ago I encountered a website by someone whom I consider a friend today. He refers to himself as "Big Jim" and Jim has been having unusual experiences and dreams for quite sometime. He too believed that something special was going to happen in 2006. In his case in March of 2006. He also took the chance and put it all on the line by providing an exacting date. Unlike the mass of others who try back peddling to regain some of their credibility, Jim was befuddled. He was angry. He couldn't understand why he was mislead. He believed that he'd been in contact with some ET presence. He believed his encounters and the message he was being sent. Yet, he also was left out in the cold. My respect for Jim grew even more after the date he predicted came and went simply because I saw a genuine sense of grief and disbelief. Jim was and is a very sincere individual who really believed that his Super-event was real. It is my own desire to believe that Jim's experiences were real and that they were designed to teach him a lesson - something he needed in order to broaden his overall awareness to the bigger picture. There is no denying that Jim was a bit egotistical and single-minded at the time. He was right and anyone who disagreed with him was completely off their rocker. I rarely choose to push the buttons of people who are in that stage because I'm certainly not all knowing. I am however, an independent thinker and I don't sway to the same music that everyone else does. That provides me with a different perspective. I use that to help me grow. I rarely try to push others to believe as I do. I firmly believe that those who reach the current level of enlightenment that I'm sharing will intuitively know that what I'm sharing is consistent and accurate for our current reality. Those who are less enlightened can not even begin to comprehend so trying to force them to understand is silly. You can't make a 4 year old understand Algebra if he doesn't have the capability to do so yet. I also believe that once you reach a certain level of enlightenment you intuitively stop trying to force your opinion on others. Instead you act as a guide when you see that they've reached new levels. Those higher than me are certainly not forcing me down a particular path because they recognize that I need to grow through my own experiences. In fact, I don't even know who they are yet but they are guiding me just the same. For those who read the PUFOIN Perspectives and find a kindred soul, you already know what I'm sharing. You understand and are at a similar level of development. I might offer something to think about or help you to connect a few dots but other than that, you've done the work. You opened your mind and you allowed yourself to accept yourself. For those who come here and leave thinking that this guy is off his rocker are equally respected for their ability to form a conclusion and stick with their gut instinct. It is my belief that one day these folks will re-visit this site by happenstance and find some fulfillment and understanding. It is then that they will get the "ah-ha" feeling and some more of the puzzle will be built. An interesting update to the comments made earlier about Eric and my belief that after the 25th he'd back peddle a bit seems to be the case. After finishing this article, I waited to see what would happen - if I'd be around on the 26th. This is what Eric put up on his website: "According to informed sources, contacts in the American intelligence services confirm the existence of a time window of 48 hours, centered on May 25th at midnight GMT, for the impact a comet fragment south of the Azores." - http://www.savelivesinmay.com/ . Gee, where was this "time-window" before the event? Before it was happening on May 25th, 2006 at 2200 hrs and he stated all of his sources to help support the event. I don't recall any of those sources suggesting that there was a "window". Now I'll have to wait until March 28th at 0001 GMT. For me, that will happen on May 27th at 1901hrs. Eric also stated that his sources told him that there would be a NASA and Pentegon announcement 20 hours before the event. That puts the time and date as May 26th at 2300 hrs. So, if I'm around on Sunday after this Tsunami washes over the lands, I'll have to add another addendum to this article. I wonder what back peddling will come next? My guess is that he'll say that he did it with the best of intentions and saving lives was more important than his reputation. In other words, he is the "boy who cried wolf" and the next time he tries to save lives, he'll be laughed at. Update (May 28, 2006) - Well, I'm still here and I have a dry yard (although it is a bit humid). As I predicted (did I just say that?), nothing happened and more back peddling was found on Eric's web site: "Many people undoubtedly think that the announced event has fizzled and may be readjusting their outlook on life and returning their lives to normal." - http://www.savelivesinmay.com/ The back peddling continues on to discuss recent dreams from a Craig Boswell. I'm uncertain of his connection to all of the Eric Julien predictions but his is the most recent posting on the "save lives in may" website, dated May 27th. There is no doubt that we are in a time of Earthly transition. Our planet is being influenced by Galactic forces and many unusual weather patterns will crop up. This shouldn't suggest anything ominous. There are those however, who will capitalize on these events to make a name for themselves. This is destructive behavior and does not serve the common good of the people and only serves to frighten people. I shall continue to observe the claims and comment on anything, which warrants a comment but I will not dwell on the activities of false prophets since there are so many seeking attention. Could ET really be manipulating our society by giving false information and forcing the public to fall into complacency? After all, what if down the line something really DOES happen? We won't believe it because we've had so many false prophets. We'll disregard it as another phony warning and go about our business. Will ET make its move then? Only time will tell. Any advanced extra-terrestrial entity could easily wipe out our species so if they are working through the undermining of our social order they must want something we have and in one piece. My last comment for now is about the world Governments. So many come out to criticize NASA and the US Government. I'm sure others do the same for their Governments as well. Put yourself in the position of the leaders of these agencies. Take the names and faces away and simply pretend you're the one having to make the decision to tell the public of an Alien threat or an Extinction Event when there is nothing you or any other combined effort of the world Governments could do about it. What would you choose to do? Would you let the citizens go about their daily routines in happy ignorance or would you make a public announcement and watch as the world population collapsed into chaos? I know what I'd do. I wouldn't say a thing. You see, there is always a chance that by saying nothing we'll be able to recover. By telling the world, I am single-handedly condemning the planet to a certain death. We've proven as a society that we can not accept threats of that magnitude without becoming totally self-destructive. I believe that the Orson Wells radio show "War of the Worlds" was a test designed to determine our readiness. A little research will tell you all you need to know about how well we handled that situation as a society! It is the same reason that NASA has no comment or denies the existence of Alien artifacts and Ancient Astronauts. By saying nothing or having plausible deniability, it leaves room for the human population to find solace in the fact that it has never been confirmed. Once you say it is true, there is no reversing it. At least you can manage the society that has no confirmation. Critique the choices of our leaders all you want but the truth is that our species is simply not ready for the truth and they truly are acting in the best interest of man-kind. Is there corruption? Absolutely. That is a given considering that power means corruption. You can't give people control over others and not expect that there is some level of advantage-taking going on. Only the naive would believe that. We simply have to consider all of the options and recognize that this truly is the lesser of the evils. We don't have to like it but we do have to accept that it is our "reality". Submitted as "Food for thought..." Reproduction permitted with credit: Copyright 2006 PUFOIN
